Introduction :
Though taxonomists have been cataloguing plants and animals for more than 250 years, they still have no exact answer to the question, "How many species live on Earth ? " The National Science Foundation's " Tree of Life " project estimates that there could be anywhere from 5 million to 100 million species on the planet. According to the IUCN, 2007 red list, Science has identified over a 1.5 million different kinds of macro organisms (plants and animals) existing today and more are being discovered with time. Some scientists believe that, at present, we have identified only about 10% of species living on earth.
